I haven't seen a  S & W #2 Army  with this much factory blue finish for sale in a long time. Especially one that was manufactured at the beginning of the War as this one was. The serial #17096 match's on the bottom of the grip strap and on the grip with matching assemby numbers 553 on the cylinder, barrel and the frame. The bore is outstanding and doesn't appear to ever have been fired.  There's no sign of wear on the pistol. The area's where the blue is missing are from dry flaking not wear. These pistols were very popular with Civil War officers.
