I bought this great Western Buffalo Rifle from a California friend at the Denver show 20 yrs.ago.  He had just bought it off of a Wyoming ranch where it had hung on the wall for over a century. I never cleaned or touched the rifle in anyway. It's exactly the way it was found on the ranch. The rifle weighs 16+ lbs. and is 1 1/2 " across it's massive breech.  The barrel has a beautiful shiny bore and exhibits the proper Sharps stampings of (Old Reliableand  Sharps Rifle Co. Bridgeport, Conn. with Calibre 45 at the breech.  In addition it's stamped "W. Cooper-Bozeman ,M.T.   Walter Cooper Sharps Buffalo Rifles are the most sought after of all the western dealers but also among the hardest to find. The double set triggers work just fine as does the long range adjustable rear sight. The serial number is 161262.  The butt stock is from old Sharps' Civil War inventory and according to Frank Seller's in The Sharps' Rifle  this is correct as the company was using up it's old inventory of Civil War stocks at in this time period.   Actually, this is the first time this rifle is being offered to the collecting fraternity .
