​This is a really spectacular Whales tooth with a wonderful mellow patina. It's 6 1/2" tall and 2 1/2"x 1 1/2' across it's base. The engraving is absolutely beautiful and really tells Capt. Haswell's story. He was Captain of the Alpha ​from 1855 to 1864. The Alpha operated out of Nantucket,Mass at the peak of the whaling era. The tooth will come with a copy of the ships log from it's July 9,1855-July 29,1859 voyage.
