American Long Rifle

A classic southern American longrifle with a wonderful untouched look and great stock label.  Which states A. 'K'ILLER-PRESENTED BY MR.-GEO.PROBSTS'-"UNCLE JAKE"-TO AUSTIN CRAVEN -DEC.9,1830.  A KILLER  may refer to a nickname for the rifle as this was the time period were it was common practice to do so. This old label is done in old 19th century brown ink and has been affixed to the stock for many many years.  The .41 cal rifled barrel is 42" long.  The gun originally was a flintlock that was converted to percussion in period of use.  The stock is plain with some tastefull carving around the front of the lock and sideplate. These plain rifles were made for Frontier use.  The double set triggers still function properly.  A great looking rifle that would benefit from some further research.

Price: $1,750.00
