A really good looking and patriotic Kentucky rifle.  It's signed S.H. St. Clair on the barrel top flat. The rifled bore is  .50 cal. and it's over length is 38".  Samuel  H. St. Clair  worked in Snyder Co. / Juniata Co., Pa. in the early 19th century.  He was known for his high quality carved and inlayed  rifles. This rifle is one of his early works exhibiting a butt stock which is 1 1/2" across it's butt . The beautiful patchbox is of the pierced whaletail design. The stock is adorned with numerous silver inlays and some very fine carvings. The word  Liberty    is spelled out under the inlayed  Eagle  cheekpiece .  The double set triggers work well. This rifle really talks to you!
