This great rifle is just the way you like to find them. It's out of a very old collection and totally untouched. Just the way it was put away after it's period of use 150 years ago. The wood to metal fit is perfect .The stock has two nice cartouches and shows use but not abuse. The lock , receiver and patchbox show some minor faded case colors under a brown patina. The faded case colors are more visible on the barrel bands . The barrel retains 85% of it's original factory blue finish under a nice patina. It's also got a beautiful bore.  It's serial # 57876 put's  it in a very sought after serial range . A very desirable Civil War rifle.
