mdl.1795 Harpers Ferry F/L Musket Type 3

‚ÄčA beautiful musket in Fine+ condition. It's still in it's original Flintlock condition which is very hard to find , particularly the Type 3's, as most were converted to percussion . ‚ÄčThe barrel is 44 7/8" and is proofed with the eaglehead, P and US. The lock has the American Eagle under the pan and Harpers Ferry 1814 on it's tail area. The stock has James Stubblefield ( Harpers Ferry Superintendent 1810-1829) initials on the sideplate flat along with V (view mark) and inspector M N initials. The stock has a minor period repair by the barrel tang and lock which is inconsequential and blends quite nicely. The soldier who carried this musket put his initials in the butt stock W K. The musket has developed a very appealing golden brown even patina.  A quality musket worthy of a top notch collection.  Formerly in the John Murison collection of fine Harpers Ferry Firearms.

Price: $3,950.00
