Confederate -English S/S Conversion

This pistol was just brought into the Civil War show in Dalton,Ga. where I acquired it.  The man I acquired it from said it had been in his family for many generations. The pistol is of British origin made by Sharpe which is stamped on the barrel along with two British proofs and the word Extra. It originally was a flintlock which was converted to the percussion system some time prior to the Civil War.  The lock is stamped New Orleans .There is also a GA stamped on the left stock flat. I have a Confederate Terry Carbine listed with the same GA stamped on it's left stock flat.  Seeing as this pistol has been in a Georgia family all these years I would have to assume that this stamp would imply some kind of Georgia ownership. The family applied a coat of varnish or lacquer to the stock for protection which is still partially present. The ramrod is not original and was put in just for looks. The action works fine on both half and full cock. A very reasonable priced secondary Confederate pistol.

Price: $1,295.00
