Rev.War English Fusil
Rev.War English Fusil

This early English Fusil was the property of Francis Whittaker and exhibits his name on the fancy wrist escutcheon. He served in the 3rd Maryland Regiment from Jan.12,1777 to Jan.12,1780. I don't know if he survived the War as he never applied for a pension nor answered a census. The fusil is in really fine condition with very fine engraving and relief carving. The lock is signed Yeatts who's listed as apprenticing under Richard Wilson in 1747. The 37" barrel is and .65 cal. with the name W. Stephen on it's top flat. His initials are also  on the side of the barrel between the British proof marks. A fine looking Fusil that belonged to an American Patriot.
