This is a very attractive outfit.  The Remington o/u deringer retains 95% of it's original factory nickel finish. The hinges are good and the hinge screw still retains a generous amount of it's original factory blue. Also, there still some original blue remaining on the  hammer, barrel release lever and screw. The action works properly. The pearl grips are really beautiful and have a wonderful patina. The case is period made from a original leather covered Bible.  All but the top page was removed and replaced with a block of wood that has been period gold painted with the exterior grooved to simulate paper pages. The interior has been lined and form cut to fit the deringer. This outfit exhibits much age and certainly of the period of the deringer which is the later part of the 19th century. Really displays nicely.
