This is a really good and honest "Ainsworth" U.S  Colt S/A mfg'd in 1874.  It obviously has seen frontier service with a attractive grey brown patina and weathered grips.  I tried to capture all the Ainsworth  inspector initials but the A and the P on the bottom of the barrel wouldn't take on film but are clearly visible. All the serial numbers match and the barrel address is the correct early slanted one with the broken O in CO. The rifling is still very good and the action is crisp .  A very attractive early U.S Ainsworth .
