This is a very coveted Rev.War musket. I've owned a 2nd & 3rd New Hampshire but this is my first 1st.  The 1st New Hampsire saw extensive service in the Revolution from Bunker Hill to Yorktown. Please refer to my cover sheet for some of the Battles. The musket is in beautiful untouched conditions exhibiting a wonderful chocolate brown patina.  The lock is signed Charleville which is the French arsenal where it was manufactured and retains it's proper proof mark. .The only things done to the musket is the ramrod and cock screw have been replaced.  Also, the rear friction barrel band has had a pin tapped into it to stop it from slipping do to wood strinkage. These muskets were received by the 1st New Hampshire in the spring of 1777 . The 44 3/4" barrel has all the proper proof marks and NH  1BN 476 at the breech.  This stands for New Hampshire 1st Battalion musket number 476.  They were incorporated into George Washington's Continental Army as the 5th Contiental Regiment.  Also, the buttstock comb has been slightly shaved to vasilitate aiming (typical American trait).   A really wonderful American Rev.War musket.
